EU-Belarus Coordination Group meeting to take place in Minsk

A delegation of the European Union will visit Minsk on 16-17 November 2016 to take part in the second meeting of the EU-Belarus Coordination Group. The EU delegation will be led by Thomas Mayr-Harting, Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service. The Belarus delegation will be led by Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus, and will include representatives of MFA and different line ministries. Representatives of Belarusian non-governmental organizations and of the expert community will take part in the talks.

The talks will focus on bilateral partnership priorities, human rights and democracy, cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership, sectoral issues in the fields of economy and finance, trade, transport, environment, energy, customs, mobility and development cooperation among others.

The first meeting of EU-Belarus Coordination Group took place in Brussels on 6-7 April 2016. The Group is expected to meet twice a year to take stock of the full scope of EU-Belarus relations and agree on further steps.
