On April 22, 2015 Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed decree No. 166 “Concerning priorities of scientific and technical activities of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020”.
The presidential decree specified priorities of scientific and technical activities of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020. The results of corresponding projects will be used by the enterprises of the real production sector and social organizations. It will help raise the competitiveness of science-intensive sectors of the national economy, support and develop scientific schools.
The decree will ensure the concentration of resources in the manufacture of brand-new materials and substances with required properties, devices and equipment, technologies of the 5th and 6th technological paradigms, establishment of hi-tech production facilities focused on import substitution and export.
Priority areas of scientific and technical activities in the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020 years:
1. Energy and energy efficiency, nuclear energy;
2. Agricultural technology and production;
3. Industrial and construction technologies and production;
4. Medicine, pharmacy, medical equipment:
5. Chemical technologies and petrochemistry;
6. Bio- and nano-industry;
7. Information and communications technology, aerospace technologies;
8. Environmental management and natural resources processing;
9. National security and defense, protection against emergency situations.
